Chrome Returns Home!

Chrome Returns Home!

Chrome has arrived! For those who aren’t familiar with California Chrome, let us reintroduce this fearsome fellow back into your lives. Chrome was the 2014 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner and after a bad start at the Belmont placed fourth where he almost became a Triple Crown winner. This was far from the end of his racing career where he went on to become the 2016 Dubai World Cup Champion, two-time Horse of the Year and so many other accolades. Chrome isn’t necessarily retired as now he’s a full-time stud living here in Nicholasville at Taylor Made Farm. So where has he been? Chile of course! Chrome successfully completed another Southern Hemisphere breeding season at Haras Sumaya Stud in Chile. Chrome arrived back at Taylor Made December 11 and was quite excited to be home despite a change in climate. Watch videos of him on one of Taylor Made’s social media platforms as he struts around his paddock.

Tickets are on sale for "The California Chrome Experience" at Taylor Made. Tours begin Jan. 10 which include lunch, an up-close look at California Chrome's progeny and a parade by Chrome himself. You may be one of the lucky ones and get the chance to give this spectacular Thoroughbred a treat. Book your tour now at VisitHorseCountry.com. Once you’ve experienced Chrome, you’ll become a real fan or should we say “Chromie”.
