St. Nich Fest & Parade

St. Nich Fest & Parade

Experience the spirit of the Holidays, Saturday, December 8. Thanks to the Jessamine Chamber of Commerce, St. Nich Fest is an event that you’ll want to bring your family to. This year, the event starts at 11am with food vendors, kettle corn and even a live nativity and petting zoo on the lawn of the County Courthouse. Children can enjoy activities at the Coolidge building provided by Parks and Recreation or over at J’s Place. Jessamine Public Library will be hosting the film, “A Christmas Story” starting at 3:30pm. For those who enjoy a good 5k, run the streets of Nicholasville with the Ugly Sweater 5K. The race begins at 4:30pm with take off from the Coolidge Building. For more information on sign ups, visit the Parks and Recreations site www.ncipr.org Of course, the highlight of the night is the annual parade. This year, the parade will start at Lake Street and travel along Main Street all the way to Krogers. Thousands come out each year just to partake in all the fun. The streets are filled with the sound joy from our local schools marching bands, floats with music and cheering spectators. This truly is a magical experience. After the parade, awards for the floats will be given inside the Courthouse at 7pm. Children of course will want to go J’s Place from 6:30pm until 8:30pm where Santa will make a brief stop before he returns to the North Pole. Come one, come all to a magical night in Nicholasville and make this great event a part of your family tradition.
